Okay, so I’m not usually one to set goals for myself, like, ever. I worked on goal setting a little bit in my group therapy back in the summer, and I’ve always hated the idea of setting a goal and working towards it. I’m not sure why, but it’s just not my thing.
That being said, I’m setting a few goals for myself for the new year, as I’m sure everyone else is as well. Most goals tend to be fitness and diet related. My only fitness goal would be to keep up with yoga as much as possible, but I wouldn’t really call that a goal.
Something I want to work more on is this, my blog! I want to continue writing one blog post about every two weeks or so, and a recipe here and there in-between those weeks. I really love writing, and it makes me so happy that I can reach people going through the same struggles as me with my posts, so that motivates me to keep going. Sometimes finding the time and energy to sit down and write is what’s the hardest, though. Writing does tend to take a lot out of me, but I’m going to stick to my goal to keep this website going and to reach my deadlines so I can do so.
I also want to try getting into meditation and mindfulness. My psychiatrist and I talked about looking at mindfulness courses because I deal with a lot of stress and tend to not know how to handle it. I’ve practiced meditation in my yoga practice, but I feel like I could really benefit from getting up and out of the house to an actual class, so I’m looking forward to trying that out this year.
This year I also want to look into alternative ways to deal with my chronic pain. One of the ways I want to do this is with acupuncture. I’ve never thought I would EVER try acupuncture, but seeing some posts online about it helping ease stress and tension in the body has changed my outlook on it. I’m going to be more willing to try different approaches to my chronic pain, since I’ve only really tried physiotherapy professionally. If acupuncture doesn’t end up working, I’m going to go back to physiotherapy, because I’m trying to listen to my body more, and I definitely need it.
These are my 2019 goals and aspirations! Let me know what yours are in the comments, and maybe we can inspire each other to have a great and healthy 2019! Let’s make this year all about us, and learning how to be the best version of ourselves! Thanks for reading.
As always with love,
Steff xoxo
